Backflow Testing & Backflow Services: Call Us Now (609) 989-7700
Municipalities generally require backflow prevention devices installed (by code) for all cross-connection points found in the plumbing systems of rental apartments, condos, restaurants & other food establishments, as well as public and commercial properties. The degree of hazard determines the type of backflow prevention system required, and these systems are required to be tested regularly. We handle backflow testing, installation, prevention systems, monitoring and repair.
What is meant by Backflow?
In short, backflow is the flow of dirty (contaminated) water that flows “back” through the clean water pipes and lines. This can happen at any connection point between the pressurized municipal water and non-potable water sources (sewage, drains, etc.). This is true for homes, businesses and commercial properties. The non-potable backflow water can be a serious health hazard, as it may be contaminated with sewage (feces), chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides and other hazardous materials. For this reason, your town or municipality will require backflow prevention systems and routine testing.
Backflow Testing & Backflow Inspection
Your backflow system and valves must be inspected annually (sometimes more often—check your municipality) to keep your property and/or business in compliance with local codes. Interruption of fresh water supply and fines will occur if your backflow testing is not completed in time. We offer backflow testing and inspection in NJ as well as Bucks Co. PA.
Backflow Prevention Devices
Backflow prevention devices are usually mechanical check values that stop dirty or contaminated water from “backflowing” into the clean water supply. Changes in water pressure due to weather and other events can cause backflow if not checked by prevention devices; these devices keep potable water safe and free of contamination.
